This weekend at the historic Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, Wisconsin, the Chrome Czars Car Club will host the third annual “Hunnert Car Heads-Up” nostalgia drag race. The event is open to stuff older than the 1965 model year and will feature flagman starts, bands, and a giant cache of killer cars. Last year the event drew more than 100 cars and got such rave reviews, we expect it to be even bigger this year.
BangShift contributing photographer Greg Rourke will be on the scene, shooting the action on the strip, in the pits, and on the stage as the event rages on. The event really focuses on getting out there and having fun. It isn’t about setting a track record at the Hunnert Car Heads Up, instead it is about getting on the strip, thrashing on junk you’ve screwed together yourself, and having a riot. Those are all things we endorse to the hundedth power!
