(Photos by Charles Wickam) –Â For 20 years the Keels N Wheels Concours d’ excellence has been assembling some of the finest classic, race, and specialty cars along with the most beautiful boats you can imagine in Seabrook, Texas. We were there last weekend as we have been for the last couple of years and we have a load of great photos to show you from the gather. You’d be hard pressed to visit a more diverse and amazing event anywhere in the world. To us, the thing that really makes this special is the fact that you’ll see everything from muscle cars (beautiful ones at that) to handcrafted race cars from years gone by, super cars from the current day, and boats that you have no choice but to admire and fall in love with. This thing is so popular it has been named one of the 10 must see events in the Houston, Texas area and Wickam confirmed that it just keeps getting better and better.
We think that one of the best things about being a gearhead that can appreciate all aspects of the mechanical realm is the understanding that the machines displayed at Keels N Wheels are more than mere noise making sculptures. These are living history and they show how human beings have been able to take relatively crude designs and turn them into the beautifully refined machines of today. Then again, we admire lots of the old stuff for how clever it was and how those engineers found ways to solve problems without the bleeding edge technology of today.
Long story short, this is a fantastic look at a true one-of-a-kind event.
