(Photos by Charles Wickam) – The avalanche of Charles Wickam photos continues from the 2015 Lonestar Round Up. This is the Austin, Texas car show that draws fans and cars from all corners of the globe. It also draws trucks, interesting engines, ratty looking cars, beautiful traditional hot rods, kustoms, and more. This grouping of photos has something for people who really like diverse stuff. Not just the same old things, you’ve got great engines in the form of Flathead and Nailhead V8s, trucks that range from the typical classic pickups you would expect to rig rods, and big honking units like the one featured above.
Sameness is discouraged and going your own way is the mark of pride with this crew. Heck, check out the fabricated intake manifold riding on top of the nailhead below and the beautiful headers that tuck in and under the frame of this car. A neat melding of modern fabrication and skill with the old school engine. Decades back guys would have been psyched to have some straight headers dumping into a collector made from a driveshaft! We’ve come a long way for sure.
That CoE is the bee’s knees!
Wow, for once I’m speechless. That Ford COE needs to lose the stupid lug nuts and be painted arrest me red and it’s my choice for coolest Rodney of the last twenty five years. Can we get a write up on that Ford?
Please?………….
