(Photos by Greg Rourke) – Here’s another great collection of photos by Greg Rourke that were taken at a pretty intense truck and tractor pulling Elburn, Illinois. This time of the year the entire motorsports world is kicked into high gear. Whether we’re talking about pulling, drag racing, stock car racing, whatever, it is busy and there are lots of events going on across the country. That makes it great for guys like us who cannot get enough of this junk!
In these photos you’ll see everything from modified trucks with diesel smoke pouring out of the stacks to tractors also working as hard as their engines will allow them. The amazing thing that has happened with the ever escalating power and robust nature of OEM diesel truck drivetrains has been an incredible resurgence in pulling stock based trucks and the age group that it has attracted is the most coveted in all of motorsports, young guys.
As much as some people want to look at pulling as some sort of basic activity it isn’t. From the chassis to the engine combos to the strategies employed by the drivers to get their stuff down the course with all that weight trying to grind it into the Earth, there is lots of stuff going on. Big props to Greg for shooting this event!

The military truck was driven to the event by a spectator, and used as a viewing platform for all his friends. The announcer talked him into pulling the sled.
