“It’s that most wonderful time of the year…with shifters a-banging and tires a-blazing to finish off the year…” Yes, folks, that one week that we all look forward to is just around the corner! From casual fan to industry mogul, the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas is a must-attend event and you had better believe that BangShift will have you covered! But therein lies one question already: what is it that you, dear reader, want to see? We are already getting the good hints about the vehicles showing up, people that will be in attendance, and the fun activities both at the Las Vegas Convention Center and nearby, but from someone who has attended twice as a fan, let me testify: SEMA is overwhelming. If you can see it all as one person, you are a freaking overachiever and personally, I’m not 100% sure it can be done. There is literally that much going on! So what is it that you want us to check out: new and upcoming parts, the builds, the high-end cars, action shots, or Brian and Chad’s smiling faces as they schmooze with everyone? (Don’t ask for my face…the camera equipment is expensive and I just ain’t pretty enough!)
I’ll start with one that we know is appearing courtesy of Mopar: The Dodge Challenger GT AWD. Yeah, all-wheel-drive, as in “raid the parts bin” from the Charger and 300 to give Subaru guys who talk smack about holeshots something to consider the next time they line up against the angry fat kid of the modern muscle era. I wonder what is powering it? We will find out, plus see more cool sheetmetal than we dare dream of in a few short days, but we need you to tell us what you want to see!
Any wild and wacky concept vehicles !
I’m excited already. Driving there this year so no need to miss Mondays test drags at LVMS for lack of transport. I also won’t have to miss the too heavy for my baggage limit freebies. I had to leave twenty pounds of catalogs in the hotel room to be able to get onboard the plane last year.
By the way, the trick to seeing it all (and I’ve never even been down to Aapex, never had time) is to spend Monday looking at all the stuff outside and also do that for an hour in the morning each day before the buildings open.
