Quick Gallery: The 2016 Corvette Reunion At Sloan Convention Center in Bowling Green!

You’d think that there would be a Corvette deal going on about once a week in Bowling Green, Kentucky…after all, not only is this sleepy little city the home of Corvette production, but between Beech Bend and NCM Motorsports Park, where else would you want to bring your piece of the American dream down to play? The truth is that there really is only one big Corvette get-together, and that’s the Homecoming event, held at the Sloan Convention Center…or, if you’re familiar with Bowling Green, the other building next to the Holiday Inn that is infamous for impromptu burnout contests. Part of a three day event, the Homecoming encourages owners to come in and enjoy what the National Corvette Museum, the GM Bowling Green assembly plant, and Warren County, Kentucky have to offer. And a great majority of the people that came in for the homecoming were out doing just that…when we stopped by, the outside show lot was pretty thin, but inside of the convention center we found some pretty pieces sitting on the carpet for show. You’ll notice that not everything here is Corvette or Corvette-related, either…while it is obvious which car is preferred, one of the event organizers we talked to mentioned how any car was welcome to come in and hang around. Sure enough, on our way out, we saw a mid-1960s Plymouth Belvedere head in. With good weather finally blessing western Kentucky, if ever an excuse was needed to go roaming around in an open-topped Corvette, owners found it here.
