(Photos by Craig Sutherland) – Yesterday we ran the great video of Jim Pace making hot laps in Sebring with a vintage Can Am car. Today, Jim’s right hand man Craig Sutherland is sharing a bad ass gallery of photos that he shot at the famed “Mitty” race held each year at Road Atlanta. This event is one of the biggest and best vintage road races in America. It brings out the top drivers and cars. The race is named after the famous short story character Walter Mitty who daydreamed himself into a much more exciting life doing cool stuff like racing cars. The event has been going since 1978 and Craig reports that this year’s contest was great!
This gallery has everything from vintage Gurney Eagle open wheel cars to 1980s IMSA prototypes with dashes of Trans Am, Can Am, and any other amazing racing series of the past mixed in. The Mitty is still going strong after three decades and that rules! Hit the link to see all of Craig’s photos!
