SEMA 2015: A Quick Look At Some Of The Highlights! From Upcoming Project Builds To Cool New Products, We’re Shooting It All!

BangShift is on the ground here at the Convention Center in Las Vegas and we three are running around, taking in everything that SEMA 2015 has to offer. There is a LOT to digest, and we will be bringing you all sorts of good information. Here’s a quick look at some of the items that caught my eye so far:

1. The 1970 four-door Barracuda is close to done!

ECS Automotive Concepts, the company that is supporting the build of the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda four-door sedan prototype tribute we featured back in August, is on the grounds and builder David Walden sought us out to let us know how the car is coming along. The paint is done, the interior is starting to take shape, the vinyl roof issue has been sorted out and we should be seeing the finished product shortly. We’re sincerely excited to see the Barracuda, especially given Walden’s known attention to detail when it comes to his Mopar restorations. He even gave us an exclusive sneak peek of the Barracuda in it’s current form:

Dual-quad style EFI for Roots blowers, a cross-ram intake for the LS3, and the studded BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A FR2. We want to see all of that combined onto one vehicle, and this isn’t even scratching the surface of what is out there.

3. …has anybody seen Chad?

Meet the ultimate RV. It’s called the “KiraVan” and it’s freaking insane. The tractor unit is a completely re-engineered system that is barely based upon a Mercedes-Benz Unimog, and the trailer is kitted up to the nines with technology and features like a tethered drone and every possible communications device. It also has a one-of-a-kind diesel motorcycle and a driving range of 2,000 miles. Expect to see this beast on “Extreme RVs” on the Travel Channel in about a week.

4. It’s even better in person!

Brett Beherns’ 1978 Ford Mustang II is proof that even the unloved era of Ford’s pony car has serious potential. We’ve lusted after this Kona Blue monster ever since we saw it represent the Pinto-Stang era during Ford’s 50th Anniversary of Mustang celebration videos…partially because there’s a built-to-the-hilt 6.8L V-10 warping time and space underhood, but mostly because this Deuce has a look that can stop traffic. Even the Celica tail pan, a feature I wasn’t personally sold on in the videos, works on this car in the flesh.

5. Gratuitious Truck Shot

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

Ford should have produced a Mustang 11 with these body mods. All it needed was two white stripes and a Shelby badge! This is probably one of the most awesome Mustangs ever built and it just goes to show that for every unloved car there is someone out there who’s willing to rescue it and turn it into a four wheeled dream – well done!

  2. BSD289

Damn that Mustang looks awesome.. So tastefully done. And normally anything with additional body modification brings out the ‘KILL IT WITH FIRE’ in me.
