After showing the massive Chevrolet engine display at SEMA 2011, we got some e-mails asking where the Chrysler stuff was. Well, here it is! The gallery is pretty small as the Mopar brand didn’t have the gigantic spread the bowtie boys had, but the sauce is pretty strong.
You’ll see some metric Hemi engines, some Pro Stock cylinder heads (prior to the hundreds of hours of tweaking done by the teams) and a couple of hard core V10s.
Early in the show, Mopar unveiled an 800hp drag racing competition engine that comes in the crate ready to run. The engine will run buyers just shy of $40,000. The company hinted at Off Road and Road Racing versions to hit the market down the road and we’ve got some info on those two. The Off Road engine will come in at about 700hp or a shade over and the road racing will be in the 600-650hp range, which is where the Viper upgrade kit puts an otherwise stock V10 after it is bolted on.
