When Cheryl, Gordon, and Tim from Jet Hot told us that they got to go tour Petty’s Garage we were pretty jealous. But, they made up for it a bit when they sent us some cool photos of the place so that we could share them with you. We consider ourselves to be pretty lucky since we get to go places a lot of folks only dream about, but Petty’s is a pretty special one for sure. Take a look at what they saw and what they thought of being at the home of the King. The first photo has to be our favorite because it is super rare to get a photo of the King with no sunglasses on.

Every once in a while a little gift is dropped in your lap and last week just such an event happened. In our industry we would be hard pressed to find anyone who does not know the name Richard Petty. It is synonymous with racing and winning. Last week our friends at Petty’s Garage hosted an open house and invited us to attend and we gratefully accepted their invite.
We are sure it is no surprise to you that it is quite the inspiring locale. The grounds still maintain the original Petty Homestead and the original garage where all the magic began. Our tour included a trip through a collection of some of the display cars: they have an original Mini Cooper (which I loved!), and one of the six original STP sponsored Lotus Turbine cars (I would like to say something erudite here about the Lotus but WOW is really the only word that comes to mind!).
A little further into the sanctum finds the build shop. An absolute Mopar playground! In case you aren’t aware, Petty’s Garage provides restoration work on hot rods as well as work their magic on some late model cars with the sweet product line they offer.
The icing on the cake for me was the behind the scenes “non-tour” tour we were privileged to receive. The cars that were not “on display” were a delight. Just some old race cars hanging out together in the garage… Imagine the stories they could tell! If you ever get the chance to tour their place we highly recommend you do it.
A word of thanks to our friends at Petty’s Garage for hosting us!

Note the variety of cars in this shot including the HPP Challenger that has the new Daytona nose on it.

Can you imagine the stuff that has gone on either on the asphalt at Petty's Garage or on the streets in front of it?
Is there any other word to use than, “Wow”?
Of all the Nascar teams over the years; this is one shop I’d really like to explore just for it’s history. Thanks for sharing the pics.
with a NASCAR reputation and Restoration background why would you want anyone else to work on your ride?
