Show Gallery: The Kevin King Benefit Car Show at Year One

It’s always tough when a friend is diagnosed with cancer, but when he happens to be a fellow gear head it’s even tougher. Kevin King has a love for anything on wheels. He likes cars, motorcycles, trucks, so he spent much of his time at car shows, drag races and other car-related events. Unfortunately, Kevin was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma earlier this year, and his on-the-go car guy lifestyle came to a screeching halt.

Thanks to a number of great friends, such as Justin Sears, Jason Murrell, Loretta Johnston, Stephanie Hoopaugh and many more, a benefit car show was created to help Kevin. Cancer treatments are outrageously expensive, so the idea to raise money doing something that Kevin loves seemed to make the most sense.

November 3rd was the big day, and the event was held at Year One in Braselton, Georgia. A great turnout of cars came out for the show, with everything from classic trucks and tri-fives to muscle cars and all out drag cars. A wide variety of cars came to support the cause, and the event also included a live auction and a burnout contest. Winners of each class and burnout contest received killer hand-made trophies, many of which included parts from Kevin’s previous builds.
