(Photos by Joe Grippo) Carlisle Pennsylvania is considered by many to be the Mecca of all car swap meet locations. Out here in SoCal, we think we’ve got the great swap meet market pretty well wrapped up, but the truth is there are tons of them all over the country. Few match the fame of Carlisle however, and the 2013 Fall Carlisle Swap Meet is one that any self respecting hot rodder is going to make sure they hit. After all, it marks the end of the season for Carlisle events, and is the last time Carlisle regulars will be able to buy swap meet parts before 2014 rolls around.
Thousands of collector and classic car buffs travel from far and wide to come to the 150 acre Carlisle Pennsylvania Fairgrounds, and with 8,100 vendor spaces, it’s a trip worth making. There are also thousands of cars for sale in the car corral areas, including the bitchin van and Pro Street Camaro below. We want them both.
Big thanks to Joe Grippo for sending us a bunch of great photos.
Great pics, Joe! That triple black ’69 Caprice with the complete big block in the trunk ( with room for two small blocks too) is the baddest assest.
I thought of you when I walked up on that scene!
I Want That Van If its yours contact me
Too Funny, That is my caprice. I’ve been driving it since 1989. That chevy van was like a perfect time capsule from the 70’s. I know it sold for $30,000 It was that nice, Inside and out!
