(Photos by Mike Brooks) — Yesterday we brought you the first of two galleries from Mike Brooks who went to the 53rd Pittsburgh World of Wheels show last weekend. While the weather was nightmarish outside, the show looks to have been a smashing success inside the convention center where it was held. Yesterday we saw lots of cool cars and truck. Today is more of that stuff along with flying motorcycles as the organizers had stunt riders performing ramp-to-ramp jumps indoors! These guys are flipping and flying in all directions. Mike stood in there and got some great photos for you to enjoy.
This gallery has a lot of drag cars in it both old and new. The old cars are great but the new tube chassis machines, including Jeff Lutz’s new 1957 Chevy which is a lightweight clone of his old car are in their own league. You’ll also see Jeff’s son’s Honda Civic which has a twin turbo 434ci small block Chevy in it and the wheelbase of a hospital gurney. We’re hoping to see both cars at Drag Week this year. If you are heading to an indoor car show at some point this winter, bring your picture taking device along and send me a note ([email protected]). We’d love to share your photos and shed some light on your local hot rodding scene. These winter shows are a great way to fend off the depression and despair as polar bears wander around your property or birds fall from the sky frozen solid. We know, we’re living that dream along with Mike in the Northeast right now.
Thanks to Mike Brooks for sharing these great photos!
