(Photos by Darryl Daniels) Every year Darryl Daniels sends us photos from Uraidla Australia’s bitchin car show and cruise, and every year it makes us want to come to Australia and bring some cool car home with us. Normally the Aussies are the ones coming here to get cars, but I have to say, I would love to have one of those SS’s in my garage. And the hot rodders in Uraidla are pretty hard core too, because this year it rained a bit and they still showed up in droves.
Here’s what Darryl had to say about this year’s show. “The Uraidla 2013 car show was a wet sort of an affair with numbers almost halved from the previous year . There were a few diehard rodders there and you could always pick them out by a wet arse and bug splattered teeth. A rocking band had the place jumping and despite the inclement conditions everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I hope next year has better weather as it is a fantastic venue and a good show.”
If that’s what an Aussie considers to be “a few”, then we’d love to see a packed house. We’ve got over 300 photos to show you from the event, and the first gallery has 100 that will make you drool, or scratch your head, or both. Wrong side drive Pro Street cars, street rods, and cool street machines galore. And apparently it’s illegal to run with open wheels in Australia because everyone has bicycle fenders on their “open wheel” street rods. Weird, but cool.
Big thanks to Darryl for hooking us up with great photos as usual.
Nice cars. Rained enough someone even brought a boat =D
Are the cardboard drip pans issued at the entrance =P
The cardboard is to put under cars when they park on the oval grass to stop oil being dropped , it is a part of being there mate….after all at the end of the day it reverts back to a sporting arena. Of course we all know OUR car doesn’t drop oil , does it? It also protects the grass from heat soak from engines that are hot when they are parked there after the cruise.
Sorry , yes they are!
Good spot with the fenders there Chad , yes the aussies have to have 1/3rd of the tyres tread covered , if I remember right , no open wheels regardless
