(Photos by Charles Wickam) – We totally screwed this up! While we were running Charles Wickam’s sweet photos from the 2015 Lonestar Round Up we had placed this folder of photos from the Top Notch burger joint cruise under a ham sandwich. That was two weeks ago and after we ate the sandwich today, lo and behold there were the photos! As we told you about during our previous coverage of the event, there’s LOTS more stuff to do at the Round Up than hang out at the car show grounds all weekend. Shops are open and cool cars converge at places like Top Notch and carry the party on long into the night.
This place is pure BangShifty cool with its old school sign, drive up service, and overall feel. Wickam informed us that Dazed and Confused was filmed at this location and other movies have been shot here as well. We understand why. This place is the type of spot you think about when you visualize cruising, hot rodders, and all the warm summer nights that come along with it.
Charles was even given roof access at Top Notch. You’ll see those photos tomorrow. Check out this stuff today!
