Yesterday we showed you a gallery featuring trucks and nothing but trucks from Viva Las Vegas 2014. We’re bringing you another load of trucks from the show today and the great thing is that there isn’t a similar one in the bunch. From wild gasser style hot rods with cheater or pie crust slicks bolted to the back to 1950s custom style trucks with chopped roofs, pancaked hoods, and Frenched lights, this was a heavenly show for anyone that prefers their hot rods with a bed and seating for three…comfortably.
One of the things that seems interesting about wrenching on an old truck is that “fast” isn’t as important as it is with an old car. There’s an expectation that if you are spinning wrenches on a classic car, the idea is to make it better, faster, and stronger. Old trucks are kind of a different story in our eyes. Sure, making one fast isn’t any harder than tuning up and old car of the same vintage but nailing the look of an old truck makes it cool even if the horsepower level isn’t exactly off the charts. An old truck with a warmed up inline six will always be cool in a yeoman-like way. You dig?
