Factory Five to Debut Electric Powered ’33 Hot Rod at SEMA

The Factory Five ’33 Hot Rod has been making big headlines all over the place lately. Hot Rod magazine has been giving them ink, and they’ve been making waves on the Internet as more and more home builders are completing their builds. The cars look awesome and have been engineered to wax high-end exotics on the road course and autocross with billy bad-ass handling ability. Now there’s a new wrinkle. One powered by electricity.

At the SEMA show next week, the crew from Factory Five will be pulling the cover off of the ’33 EV. It looks the part of the normal gas-powered model, and according to factory claims it’ll do 0-60 in four seconds and deliver a range of more than 100 miles.

We’re going to be looking over this creation at SEMA, and since Factory Five is located a scant few miles from our East Coast HQ and our curiousity is bouncing off the redline, we’re going to beg for at least a ride once they get home. Instant maximum torque can’t be all bad right?
