Ford Romeo Plant Has Produced Its 10-Millionth Engine

The Romeo, Michigan Ford engine plant recently produced its ten millionth engine since production was started there in 1990. The factory supplies V-8 motors to Ford trucks and Mustangs.

The first engine was a two-valve, 4.6L destined for a 1991 model year Lincoln, the car in which those motors made their debut. The plant has been producing nothing but modular motors ever since, obviously in high volume.

It’s fun to realize that the hand built engines for the Mustang Cobra Jets and cars like the Ford GT were also constructed there.

The good news is that there are in the neighborhood of ten million Ford OHC V8s floating around to be modified and screwed around with. Impressive numbers!
