Fun Not Dead: GM To Introduce SS Sedan in 2013 as 2014 Model

General Motors, once punch drunk and clinging to the ropes is starting to feel like itself again. The company has become more lean, produced better cars, and has shed lots of the creepy government ownership that prevented it from completely heading under the waves during some of the darkest hours in company history. The website GMinsideNews is reporting that the company will offer an “SS Sedan” in 2013 as a 2014 model and that car will be a modified version of the Aussie Holden Commando.

If this is true, and GM Inside News is pretty dang sure that it is, the car would fill the mid level sport sedan niche that GM abandoned after killing Pontiac off. When Pontiac died, so did the impressive and subtly cool G8 sedan. There are apparently compant documents about this program and it even has a program code.

GMI reports that the Caprice will have a second run of production as a police model in 2014 and that there exists a possibility of a sport coupe version of this car and that an SS ‘Ute could also be spawned easily if the numbers, and fuel prices are good enough to warrant it.
