Good News: Capitol Raceway Will Re-Open Under New Management

Good News: Capitol Raceway Will Re-Open Under New Management

A quick piece of good news today! Capitol Raceway, which was recently closed due to the lease holder not being able to strike a deal with the property owner will be reopened, and soon! According to a message posted in response to our story on the track, it will get back into the racing business on April 13th with a test and tune event.

As it turns out, the company that has taken over the track has retained the services of noted track operator, race director, and drag racing operations man Bubba Corzine to whip the actual operation of the facility back into shape. Judging by the responses we got from the story, there was not a lot of love for the former management regime. With the new group running the track and the way they seem to be approaching it, we may see a formerly glorious strip move in the right direction to achieve that status again.

For all those people who posted that you’d never go back unless Capitol had new management, you best be looking at your calender to pick a date for your triumphant return.

We’ll post more info when we get it.

Has there been any official news, all I have read is rumors or I just heard stuff. Nothing reliable. No web sites, no phone numbers, No activity at the track yet it opens tomorrow.
