The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing series picked up where CORR left off. It’s a series featuring race trucks that weigh in at two tons and pack nearly 1,000 hp. The courses are winding, bending, mazes of hills, jumps and hairpin turns. These trucks are some of the most amazing racing machines out there.
Racer Magazine recently took a closer look at these dirt rockets and spent some time talking to the man who is the winningest and it can be debated most talented to ever drive these verhicles, Carl Renezeder. Since the story talks about the behavorial differences between the 2WD class and 4WD class, Renezeder is the man to talk to as he races in both.
If you get the chance to take in one of these races, do it. You’ll never see the laws of physics bent so hard. Stuff this big and heavy should not be as fast or as nimble as it is!
