Great Read: Caswell Interviews Tajima on His Record Setting Pikes Peak Run

So what do you do after you bury your race car into the woods off the side of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb? Well, if you’re Bill Caswell you don a fedora hat, stick a piece of paper in the side that says, “PRESS” and go into journo mode. Caswell managed to get an interview with Monster Tajima, the man who broke the 10-minute barrier on the mountain.

The interview is really neat because it taught us more than a couple things about the amazingly talented 60 year old Japanese racer. Firstly, he desgined and built the freaking car! Tajima is not a plug and play driver. He’s an engineer, and according to Caswell’s interview, there weren’t super computers spitting out data at Tajima and his World Rally experienced crew. Instead it was years of combined experience combined with innovative thinking and construction that built the quickest and fastest car in the history of Pikes Peak.

Hit the link below to read the interview. Caswell is pretty decent at this stuff!
