We need your help to find one of the coolest custom Corvettes ever built. This was the machine of Gary “The Local Brush” Kupfer the well known painter, customizer, and hot rodder from NY. The Local Brush was the go to guy for Joel Rosen then and now for body work or customization touches. He painted tons of cars using ground breaking techniques for his day. Simply put, the dude was a total bad ass and this 1963 Corvette was his primary calling card and it has not been seen for some time. We were contacted by John Vescuso who is seeking to find the car or at least verify that it still exists. John would love to get the machine to the annual Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show in November. We’d just like to know if this car is still around because we’d drive almost any distance to go and shoot a feature on it.
From the custom built nose to the custom made, widened out window split and roof changes the styling is hot. If we start adding in stuff like the supercharged engine hanging out in the breeze, the big n’ little tires, the fender flares, the slicks on the back, and that type of stuff it would sweeten the deal. The interior was full on whacky. Made of orange vinyl it is probably the only Corvette you’ll ever see with a bench seat and certainly the only one with this color guts.
Supposedly the car is located in the Pennsylvania area, or at least John thinks so. Have you seen the car? Heard stories about a crazy looking Corvette? Do you own it? If you know anything and do not want to release the information publicly please email me: [email protected] with information that I can keep in confidence at your request. HELP US SOLVE THIS MYSTERY!
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN TO SEE THE PHOTOS OF THE CORVETTE AND THEN HIT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS, BLOGS, FB PAGES AND SPREAD THE WORD – WE NEED TO FIND THIS CAR AND WE KNOW THAT THE BANGSHIFT ARMY IS JUST THE GROUP TO HELP US DO IT!
That is badass I hope it gets found
You are tripping on some serious mushrooms….
Ok, cool car whatever, but can that friggin floating ad be gone !
Don’cha just love how the self-scrolling ads move down to obscure ~ 20+% of the wide pics?
Thanks Brian , Gary would love to see this Bad Ass 63
the self scrolling ads suck
Sorry Craig, I had not resized the photos the right way. Fixed now!
ok,now that’s different!!–couple things, though—the interior doesn’t have a bench seat(there really isn’t a way to put one in a vette, the tunnel is in the way)—appears to be buckets, though the backs have been modified to curve together, perhaps even touch(pictures aren’t real clear)—and while the outside of the seats do appear to be vinyl, the rest is some weird cloth material, most likely furniture stuff….I think it would be a hoot to show up at some ‘vette gathering—just to watch the reaction of the “numbers matching” weenies…….
…“numbers matching” weenies…….Now that’s funny! Their reaction: they’d be freaking out!
Why did he get rid of the car to begin with?
Weird car but cool. I dont have that issue of Hot Cars which is more troubling for me than finding the car. The center pic is definatly of that car in front of Motions shop.
Thank You Brian – cool article & apologies
