Hot Rod Hauler: This 1973 Dodge Coronet Wagon Would Make A Bitchin’ Push Vehicle!

What is it about a big-block station wagon that automatically makes us want to use it at a nostalgia drag race? On it’s own accord, this 440-powered 1973 Dodge Coronet is a great car: It’s clean everywhere, it’s sitting on slot mags, the interior is about as nice as you’ll find outside of a show car field, and oh yeah, big-block wagon. That alone seals the deal for us, but we’d go from “love” to “lust” with a wooden push bumper and a slingshot in need of a start on a dragstrip with this beauty. And it’s not like it couldn’t work out: the three-way tailgate and space in back would be handy for keeping the starter, fuel and alcohol bottles, and the jump box, while the entire crew could ride on the blue bench seats front and rear. With 500 horsepower on tap from the RB mill underneath the hood, pushing a dragster wouldn’t be an issue whatsoever, and the TorqueFlite is more than up to the task. From hauling the car to the track to starting it, this Coronet could handle just about everything. What say you?
