How the NHRA is Weathering the Financial Storm

We would not exactly be breaking news if we told you that the economy sucked like a dealer lot full of mini-vans. When stuff is rocky like this, the strong, creating, and innovative survive. We came across a story in the LA Business Journal about the NHRA and what its is doing to stay healthy in these trying times.

It’s interesting to see how a business running on the “traditional” model of marketing and selling tickets to spectators is working to modify their business approach. Obviously, the ADRL has been dominating drag-racing-related media with its free-ticket model. In many circles, and we think the NHRA’s Glendora office is one, the ADRL guys are seen as heretics by those on the traditional plan.

Can the old way be chopped, cut, and welded together to work when there is less and less disposable income, or will the ADRL’s model of packing tracks be adopted by organizations by the NHRA? Only time will tell.
