Ever since Bob Lutz intimated that the Pontiac G8 would be saved and sold as a new Chevy Caprice, there has been smiles around all corners of the BangShift.com universe. Rear wheel drive, V8, good handling cars were supposed to be dead ducks, but it seemed like the doomsday predictions were being thwarted.
Then Lutz pulled back and seemed to hedge his bets in a blog posting on GM’s Fast Lane Blog.
Now, new information has surfaced from Automotive Traveler via our friends at Car Domain stating that the car will be built, and built here in North America alongside the Camaro at the Oshawa, Ontario GM plant. Those guys are saying it will be built as a 2011 model.
We hope that it’s true, but as usual in these situations, the waters seem to be pretty clouded yet.
