John Force has been fined two crankshafts, or in normal speak, $10,000, by the NHRA for making physical contact with an NHRA official during his shouting match with Tony Pedregon at Indy. Force is not the first to be fined for mixing it up with an official and we’re sure he won’t be the last.
During the 2004 season, Funny Car racer Cory Lee had a run in with a security person during the Gatornationals and that resulted in a $5,000 fine and a season-long probation. Lee managed to get through the rest of the season without a problem. There has been no mention made of probationary action for Force, just the monetary fine.
Here’s a USA Today story on the fine.
