Here comes the flood. As dealers are starting to see payment for their Clunkers, those cars are headed to the local junkyards in their respective areas. For those yards, they are going to see a massive increase in the volume of cars they are handling and dismantling each week. The used parts market is headed for saturation and quick.
Here’s a story from the Colombia Missourian newspaper. Their reporter went to a local wrecking yard and spoke to the owners and workers. Most all of them agreed that they were pulling apart cars that seemingly could have lasted for thousands more miles on the road. But is ths really a boom for the yards? See what you think.
