Killer New Product: The Nightmare Motorsports Stealth Nozzle — A Nitrous Breakthrough!

Scott Vanderschoor, the owner and chief lunatic behind Nightmare Motorsports (and a dedicated BangShifter!), has invented what we believe to be the coolest nitrous innovation to come along in some time. Scott calls it the “Stealth Nozzle” and it is the first nitrous nozzle to be mounted inside, yes, inside a single plane intake manifold. The Stealth Nozzle is pure nitrous genius.

With the nozzle secured to the floor of the intake manifold, nitrous and fuel are fed into it through an inlet tube at the base of the nozzle. There is a Y-block that mixes the fuel and nitrous on the way to the nozzle. Once it arrives at the nozzle head, the mix is shot out of eight individual, custom tailored ports which are machined to match the application. Obviously the same port spacing for a small block Chevy is going to be different than a big block Ford. Scott machines the nozzles out of 6061 billet Aluminum.

The benefits over a plate system is that the nitrous/fuel mix gets blasted right into the corresponding intake port for quicker, more precise delivery. The major advantage over a direct port system is the fact that you don’t have to be a plumbing expert to install it.

Outside of the performance benefits, there’s another biggie. The Stealth Nozzle can be 100% hidden if the end user wants to do that. Remote mount the solenoids and no one will be the wiser that you are packing a nitrous punch under the hood. From the perspective of packaging, there will be no problems that may arise due to the increased height of a plate system.

Scott has been testing the nozzle on the dyno and reports that it has handled a 250hp shot with no trouble at all and due to its shape and positioning, power gains have been seen off the happy gas as well. Vanderschoor believes that the tapered nose of the nozzle cleans up some air flow to the runners where it would have been running into the floor of the intake before.

At this writing Scott has prototype nozzles made up for small block Chevys and Fords as well as one for single plane LSX intake manifolds. He is working on another version that will be used for alcohol injection in boosted applications.

Pricing and other details are currently being sorted out, but we think this nozzle is hella cool and from Scott’s testing results we can see that it is effective.
