Larry Dixon and Lee Beard Are Back In NHRA For 2013 – Rapisarda Autosport International Hires The Two Legends For Multi-Continental Campaign

NHRA.com is reporting that two of the greats in modern drag racing history will be paired up in 2013 racing under the banner of the Australian-based Rapisarda Autosport International team. Lee Beard and Larry Dixon are those two legends and their season is sure to be an interesting one as they’ll be contesting a limited NHRA schedule as well as racing in Australia, to boot.

The Rapisarda team is owned by Santo Rapisarda, he is the major domo at Titan Cranes, the largest crane service and sales operation in Australia. They are a massive outfit and he’s long been a part of the nitro racing world down under. In 1990 Santo’s son Louie, died in a top fuel crash at Willowbank Raceway but the family has kept with the sport and prospered. Cory Mac was recently driving for them but now with the addition of Beard and Dixon, the team becomes a real threat to beat up on the competition when they roll through the gate.

No definitive schedule was announced in the NHRA.com story, but we’ll keep our ears on for more information on this story. It is awesome to have these two names back at the track!

Guess that means Cory mac is out? Man, he cant catch a break………….need him back in Spencers car even though TJ will probably get that deal……………Hope Larry and Beard can get along lol……….

  2. Piston Pete

This seems like the last desperate act by all parties concerned. They should have let Cory stay in on it and ran a 2 car team, might have had a chance. I hope I’m wrong cause T/F needs all the competitors it can get, but I don’t see this lasting past Englishtown.
