Lohnes’ Pic of the Week: Faux Touring at Work

Lohnes’ Pic of the Week: Faux Touring at Work

This week’s photographic gem was shot from the hip though the windshield of the import junk rental car Chad and I had during our stay in Bowling Green for the Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion. It’s shows a faux touring Nova leaning like the Andrea Doria while making a low speed left turn.

Before you go thinking that we’re knocking this killer looking Nova, we aren’t. Hell, the faux touring thing, basically capturing the look of a pro touring car without the handling performance, isn’t something that we think is all that bad at all. We’d certainly do our best to recommend a killer setup from Air Ride Technologies, but for cruising bliss this is a good setup.

As I spotted the car coming up to the intersection we were waiting at, my first thought was that this thing had Corvette stuff underneath it. As it nearly laid the rocker panels on the ground I thought it may have had Eldorado stuff under it.

Either way we’d grab this car in a second and cruise the wheels off of it like it’s current owner is obviously doing.

Faux touring, is it fun or fakery? What say you?
