Mark Your Calender: 2013 Power Tour Dates and Stops Announced – We’re Planning on Being There!

Ladies and gentleman start your 2013 vacation requests now! The word has been passed down from Hot Rod Magazine regarding the dates and venues for the 2013 Hot Rod Power Tour. Everything we have heard tells us that 2013 was the biggest and baddest one yet. There were more cars, more spectators, and more long haulers than ever before. We’ve gotten sick and tired of everyone else having all the fun, and since Lohnes was on hand for the final day of PT 2012 and saw first hand how cool it was, we’re hell bent on experiencing this mother for ourselves. We think it would be boss to take our Buford T Justice project on the long haul for 2013.

Now that we’ve said that, here are the dates and stops for the 2013 Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour!

Saturday June 1: Arlington, TX  (This is the same venue that the 2012 Power Tour ended at and it is immense beyond all measure of the word)

Sunday June 2: Texarkana, AR  (There’s beer in Texarkana and they’re thirsty in Atlanta…)

Monday June 3: Little Rock, AR

Tuesday June 4: Memphis, TN (We’re hoping that the drag strip will be open for thrashing!)

Wednesday June 5: Birmingham (Hoover), AL

Thursday June 6: Chattanooga, TN

Friday June 7: Charlotte, NC  — (The last stop and we’re guessing that it will be held at the speedway…hey, the strip is just across the road!)

It’s a conspiracy against liberalism – they hate Cali! (which makes absolutely NO sense considering their corp. offices are IN California.)

It comes down to population density. Except in the three coastal states, the West is sparcely populated. The majority of HRM’s readers still live in the more densely-populated Eastern half of the country.

Family Events could take a page from NASCAR and organize a Western Power Tour. But then the purists would gripe that regional tours would dilute the main Power Tour.

Too bad Bangshift doesn’t have the ability (yet) to fill in this obvious gap.

Too bad they didn’t select Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham. It would be a great place to do a few laps.

Hopefully Barber will provide some reasonably-priced track time. Even a just a tour like at Hallett this year would be okay.

The Wildcat detour is a great idea (if the track is available midweek)

Texarkana and Little Rock are just do-nothing “filler” venues. Yawn. Zzzzz.
