Jeremy Mayfield’s Former Lawyer (and Boss Hogg look-a-like) Claims He Has Not Been Paid

Bill Diehl, the attorney who was formerly the lead man on suspended NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield’s defense team, claims that he has not been paid for the services rendered to Mayfield during his time as legal counsel. Diehl (pictured) reportedly bills at the rate of $1,000 per hour.

With a slight hair cut and some styling cream he’d be awesome as a JD “Boss” Hogg impersonator at an Dukes of Hazzard festival.

ESPN reports that Diehl is saying he is owed “a lot” and that he does not believe that Mayfield is as wiped out financially as Mayfield wants everyone to believe. Owing a large sum of money to a lawyer sounds like a really dumb thing to do, but then again, at every turn in this case, something incredibly dumb is happening, so what the hell?

If Diehl was was getting a G-note per hour we can only guess what Mark Geragos’s firm is charging.
