Minnesota Republican Representative Michelle Bachmann is the co-sponsor (along with 241 other congressmen and woman) of a recent bill that would essentially restore the contracts of the dealers that were canned by GM and Chrysler. She’s not happy and she let the San Franscisco Examiner (and we assume lots of other papers) know.

Bachmann’s main point of contention is that politics are now intertwined into the operation of GM (SHOCKING!). GM dealers still in good standing were distributed talking points and encouraged to make phone calls to their members of Congress. Hell, they were even provided a script to use for those conversations.

The president has already made known his very strong opposition to this bill, which has already passed through one house of Congress. If it passes the other, we’re not sure what will happen as the President has not said he would veto the bill, but he certainly hasn’t said he wouldn’t either.
