New Product Alert: The Killer B Turbo From BD Performance Diesel

Back in 2003 when the venerable Cummins B-series diesel engines found in Dodge trucks switched to common rail injection, performance diesel guys cried. They were afraid that the days of big and easy power were over and that the performance Cummins community would suffer from the introduction of this new technology. Yeah, they were wrong.

It didn’t take long for the aftermarket and boutique diesel shops to start tweaking and tuning on the common rail engines to make stupid power on stock parts. now there is a full-on market for diesel hop up parts aimed right at the 2003 and up Cummins market, specifically designed to be compatible with common rail fuel injection. This turbo is proof.

BD Performance Diesel developed this unit with Borg Warner and claim that it can be bolted on and with the proper fueling updates, can produce up to 200hp over the stock setup. That’s a pretty wild bolt on! The turbo retails for a suggested $1750 and would be a welcome addition under the hood of any Cummins performance freak. We think that the I6 Cummins is the best sounding of all the pickup truck diesel engines. This big compressor can help it be the best running as well.
