New Product: Twisted Wedge Track Heat 170 Small Block Ford Heads from Trick Flow

At the 2012 Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council Media Conference, we’ve had the chance to touch and feel some great new parts. Trick Flow Specialties announced their new Twisted Wedge and Twisted Wedge Track Heat 170 heads for Small Block Ford at the 2011 SEMA Show, but this was our first chance to really put our hands on them. The standard TW is for hot street cars, while the TW Track Heats are for even more serious performance and competition vehicles that are going to see higher RPM. Either way, these 170s are going to make big power for your Small Block Ford. The “as-cast” ports and CNC chambers combined with Twisted Wedge chambers and valve layout are a proven combo on Fords, and these new versions are sure to continue the tradition.

AKRON, OHIO— Trick Flow’s Twisted Wedge 170 series cylinder heads have 170cc intake runners that provide excellent airflow for street and entry-level bracket racing engines.


Features:
The heads have been redesigned on the exhaust side to improve strength and water jacket integrity. CNC-profiled combustion chambers with

port-to-valve seat blending (bowl blending) and refined Fast As Cast® runners that deliver near-CNC-ported power and airflow at “as-cast” head prices. All of the other features that make the Twisted Wedge heads so good—Twisted Wedge combustion chambers and valve layout, high-flow/high-velocity intake runners, and top-quality valvetrain components—are retained.
The Twisted Wedge 170 heads are intended as a performance upgrade for street and entry-level strip engines that may need to meet emissions. The Twisted Wedge Track Heat 170 heads are for higher performance, non-emissions engines and feature beefier components to handle high-rpm applications.
