Hellion Power Systems first lept to fame with twin turbo kits for blown Mustang Cobras that made 1,000 hp to the rear wheels. We’ve seen some cars with their stuff installed and they make ooga-booga power. The company has now released its twin-turbo setup for the Dodge SRT8 platform. We’re not going to cry about the 4200-pound curb weight of the new Challenger if it is packing anywhere from 500 to 1,000 hp at the wheels!
The kit features twin 58mm Turbonetics turbochargers, TurboSmart wastegates, and all the rest of the junk you’ll need to install it.
As you can imagine, finding space to mount twins, all the plumbing, and associated hardware is not easy on a late model car. As you can see in the photo (below the video) from the Hellion website, the guys have positioned the turbos under the floor by the transmission. Unless you pick the trunk, we’re thinking there isn’t another location. Hellion advertises 500 hp at the wheels on pump gas and 5psi of boost, but they also mention that the system will support that magical 1,000hp number (but will the motor?)
