Hotchkis Sport Suspension came to SEMA 2015 loaded for bear with new products that are designed to enhance the handling characteristics of a wide variety of vehicles. When we say wide, we mean it. How about stuff ranging from classic early Mustangs to modern super cars like C7 Corvettes and others. These products range from individual components like sway bars all the way through comprehensive suspension system upgrades and we’re going to tell you all about them both here and through the photos below.
We got the full tour from the Hotchkis folks at the show and the good news is that we were having trouble getting around the display because there were so many people jammed up in it every day! That’s a good sign for any company because when you are at SEMA and you have to beg people to take a look, that’s big trouble. From a Galaxie suspension system that was originally commissioned by Jay Leno to a TVS Stage 1 kit for Hellcats that help those mean beasts not only track straight but also bend corners, we’ve got a lot to show you, so let’s take a look.
We’re going to tell you about these parts and pieces though the photos below and captions, so come on down!

Here’s a look at the new Hotchkis TVS (Total Vehicle System) kit for the 1965-1966 Galaxie. The fun story here is that these parts were originally built as a one-off for Leno who wanted to get his own Galaxie sitting and handling better than it did. The cars came from the factory with coil springs on the corners and three link style setup out back so there’s great engineering to work with already when we’re talking Galaxies. After Leno raved about the suspension on his show “Jay Leno’s Garage” Hotchkis decided to put the kit into production and the funny thing was they needed Jay’s car back to pattern the parts off of!
So the kit is anchored with some big tubular sway bars, Hotchkis-tuned adjustable monotube shocks by Fox, new control arms, strut rods, and of course springs. There’s a double adjustable Panhard rod out back, adjustable upper trailing arms, and fixed lower trailing arms with Delrin bushings as well as a hybrid swivel bushing with polyurethane are part of the package. This is a complete reinvigoration of the suspension system as a whole, not just some patches here and there. Right now the car will maintain its stock ride height height (or very close) but there will be a kit on the way to provide some springs that will set the car lower for those who want it. Cool stuff!
Here’s a look at those beefy new control arms for the front of the car.
On the Mustang front there’s big news as well. Hotchkis has worked for a couple of years to develop a TVS package for first generation Mustangs that would both bolt on and dramatically improve the suspension and driving characteristics of these cars. Good news, they have! They are claiming results of up to .9G on the skid pad! The company has offered a TVS Stage 1 Package that did some great things for the cars but with the TVS Stage 2, it really transforms the machine. The addition of the engineered front lower control arms really completes this package and helps to correct the last of the geometry issues that these cars have. The arms are bolt on pieces and come with all the hardware to do such. They are made from 4130 Chromoly steel and DOM tubing.
Adding these to the existing TVS Stage 1 package that includes front coils, rear leafs, and sway bars, and you’ll have yourself the most corner burning Mustang in town and it all bolts on!
If there is a place where the Dodge Hellcats could use some help it certainly is not under the hood. Nope, they have the horsepower handled like no one else right now but he heavy car is not all that interested in turning corners in the way it should be. Hotchkis is here to fix that. They now offer a Hellcat TVS Stage 1 package that employs a new set of springs that lower the car .75 of an inch up front and 1 inch in the back. The rates are 280 in/lbs and 695 in/lbs on either end. Now that the CG is down and the weight distribution is better, the kit kicks in with a new front sway bar that is 38mm in diameter and has a rate of 1,600 in/lbs! That is a perfect match to the rear bar and will make the car way more crisp and responsive on turn in and keep roll to a minimum.
Make your Hellcat handle!
The company also offers a myriad of sway bar options for cars ranging from C7 Corvettes to BMWs, Miatas, to VW Golfs, and other machines big and small, domestic and foreign. Basically if it is made, Hotchkis likely has a way to make it work better than it does already! Check out the rest of the images for sway bar photos –
Almost overlooked this until I saw “Galaxie” in the headline. Love me some full-size Fords.
I do appreciate some love for the Galaxies but wouldn’t a kit for the 1960-64 chassis be that much more popular. I see way more of those than I do the 65’s and 66’s. Of course, I may be a bit partial as I own a 63 500XL ragtop.
There are parts out there for the ’60-’64s. The ’65-’67s had nothing until now.
Also,the kit for 65-66 will fit 67 and 68 Galaxie too..and the 65 to 68 Mercs.
I wish Hotchkis would explain why THEY STATE it’s just for the 65′ – 66′.
My understanding is that 65′ – 68’s are the same.
I have a 67′ and want this setup!
If there are differences what are they exactly because if there is just some minor variation maybe it could be easily dealt with.
Hotchkis, WHAT DO YOU KNOW that the 65′ – 68′ full size Ford guys don’t?
DETAILS Hotchkis, please…….
