While most of the media were hanging out at the bar in the Hilton or still traveling to Las Vegas for the start of the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Brian and I were sneaking into the joint so we could check out the latest and greatest before anyone else, and we are sure glad we did. When we got into the Holley booth, Ricky Best, Bill Tichenor, and Robin Lawrence were trying to cover up their newest offering, but we were having no part of it. The new Terminator EFI features a 950 CFM throttle body, with built in injectors, sensors, and linkage. It’s a bitchin looking piece in Holley Hardcore Gray, and we saw a Tumble Polished version hanging on the wall as well.
This system looks super cool, and has a simple hand help controller and self-tuning built in. It’s also laptop tunable for those of you out there who want to turn it up a lot. Looking at the new throttle body setup, one of the big things you don’t see are boosters, and one of the big things you do see are easily replaceable injectors. The ECU looks just like Holley’s HP box, so we are pretty sure there are some upgrades available as well, and a couple slips of the tongue pretty much confirmed that since blowers, nitrous, and turbos are easily accommodated with the Terminator setup.
Take a look at some of our recon photos below.
Hey, the hooker bar is now in the “LVH” not the Hilton!
Why did Holley design this with a double step to the throttle plates? Why not a nice single radiused entry then a smooth section to the throttle plates?
Or just one nice smooth radius from the carb entry?
This may be a cool up date for my Z/28
