New Parts: Hotchkis Has Adjustable Sway Bars For New Camaros

The new Camaro has been a hit with enthusiasts, and although they are awesome from the factory, we are hot rodders and can’t leave well enough alone. Plus, there is always room for improvement right? The guys at Hotchkis have just come out with new Adjustable Sway Bars for the 2012 and 2013 Camaros that increase roll stiffness by as much as 135%! They still ride nice though we are told. GM is supposed to be handing over the keys to a new Camaro for us soon, I wonder what they would say to swapping out some Hotchkis parts for the stockers. Hmmmmm.

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. (August, 2013) – Chevrolet’s fifth generation Camaro has been a performance enthusiast’s dream – not only is it powerful, but its modern suspension gives it a serious handling advantage over its competitors. However, like many factory performance cars, the new Camaro has understeer built into the suspension to add a level of safety to the vehicle. Thankfully, the suspension experts at Hotchkis Sport Suspension have found the cure for this with their newly redesigned adjustable sway bars for the 2012-13 Chevy Camaro, including the supercharged ZL1 and road racing-inspired 1LE.

The ZL1 and 1LE Camaros are a huge step forward in factory performance for a muscle car, but they still prone to exhibit understeer when driven at the limit. This understeer becomes even more noticeable with the addition of larger and stickier aftermarket tires. Looking to neutralize the understeer, minimize body roll, and increase overall driver control, Hotchkis engineers spent hours on the track and the street developing upgraded sway bars that work as well on a stock vehicle as they do on a modified one.

The front 1-1/4-inch (32 mm) tubular bar increases front roll stiffness by 45% on the 1LE, 100% on the ZL1, and 135% on the SS. The rear 1-1/4-inch (32 mm) bar has three levels of adjustment that increases the rear roll stiffness from 10% to 45% over stock on the 1LE and ZL1 and from 75% to 125% on the SS. With so many different settings, these bars allow the driver to tailor the roll stiffness to match their car’s tires and suspension, as well as their own driving style. Both front and rear sway bars also feature greasable polyurethane bushings and heavy duty brackets with built-in Zerk fittings for easy maintenance. The kit also comes with upgraded rear end links that feature maintenance-free THK-linked ball links and CNC-machined steel hex adjusters for easy pre-load adjustability.

Hotchkis Sport Suspension sway bars for the 2012-13 Chevrolet Camaro are manufactured in the USA, come with all necessary hardware, and are finished in a durable gloss-black powder coated finish. These bolt-on upgrades can transform your car in a single afternoon and are the ultimate way to unlock the true potential of the fifth generation Camaro.
