New Parts: Mr Gasket’s Headlock Bolts Are The Latest Way To Keep Your Headers Tight

We all love our cars but there’s some stuff that will always be annoying no matter how in love we are. One of those things? Loose header bolts. In many cases it is kind of a fight to get the headers fitted and locked down in the first place so when you have to keep checking the bolts every few weeks or months to make sure they are tight and that you are not going to blow gaskets out because they’re loose, it can get old. Enter Mr. Gasket and their new “Headlock” bolts which feature a serrated head that uses its teeth to lock into the header flange and never let go.

These things will hold headers on like a five year old clinging to his mom’s leg at a toy store. Literally. Mr. Gasket’s HeadLock header bolts eliminate the need for lock washers when installing header exhaust. Instead, the innovative patent pending design incorporates 24 serrated teeth into the flanged hex/socket head, each equally spaced, designed to grip and lock onto the header flange, maintaining consistent fastener clamp-load.

In addition, the new header bolts also incorporate a unique Thread-Lock Patch that provides positive thread engagement. It is a pre-applied, high-temperature thread lock coating fused to the bolt threads, making it self-locking and self-sealing. The Thread-Lock Patch is also chemical resistant, reusable and provides positive thread seal, resists engine heat cycling and vibration that often loosens conventional header bolts.

Mr. Gasket HeadLock header bolts also feature a combination hex and socket head design for ease of installation in tight spaces. Also, includes a hex key socket tool to start installation of header bolts into cylinder head mounting bolts.
