If you’ve been hunting swap meets for a classic-style 6-71 or 8-71 supercharger case for a small-block Chevy, big-block Chevy or Chrysler 392 Hemi, Weiand has good news: they have reintroduced the old-style case on their superchargers. Both versions can be had with an 8mm belt drive, and 6-71 blowers can be optioned with a 1/2″ pitch drive, and they are available in polished or satin finishes. 6-71 blowers come as a two-lobe rotor system for better boost at lower RPMs while the 8-71 blowers are sent with the recommended three-lobe GM rotors for better performance at high RPM. The kits come with a new case, new end plates, manifold, and snout, along with a billet belt tensioner and V-belt pulleys. The small-block systems are designed for 10-12 PSI out of the box and the big-block systems are set for 5-7 PSI, but as Weiand themselves say, they are “a simple pulley change away from pump gas or hard core racing.” Every supercharger is 100% boost tested to ensure maximum power and efficiency. If you every want to make a sincere statement with your vehicle, there is nothing like a blower sitting on top of an already-powerful mill.
Very cool, I need one.
