New Sponsor: Aeromotive Joins BangShift.com, Builds New Pro Mod Mustang

We are proud to announce that Aeromotive, the greatest fuel system manufacturer on the planet, is joining the fold as a BangShift.com sponsor. Aeromotive is known industry wide for providing fuel systems and components that can handle any power level you can imagine, with unmatched quality and design. Aeromotive’s commitment to racing is huge, and the company is even building a new 2010 Pro Mod Mustang at Larson Race Cars.

The BangShift.com family would like to thank Aeromotive for all of their support that extends back to the days of CarJunkieTV, and we appreciate the personal and professional relationships we have with their whole team. Like our other sponsors, Ridetech, Cherry Bomb, and MSD, they are true enthusiasts and racers, and we are all excited to have them on board. Please welcome them by visiting the recently redesigned AeromotiveInc.com and letting them know how much you appreciate their sponsorship.

Aeromotive President Steve Matusek is a long time NHRA, PRO5.0, and Pro Street racer, and is committed to maintaining a performance advantage both on the street and on the track. As Aeromotive says, “We know it. We race it. We live it.” Their well-known Cobra Jet Mustang was recently sold to mod-motor madman John Mihovetz, after he crashed his Cougar in Fontana. The ’07 Larson Race Cars built twin-turbo Mustang won multiple events, but its departure leaves room for another in the Aeromotive race car stable. Larry Larson, at Larson Race Cars, has just received the 2010 Mustang body that will soon become Aeromotive’s 500-cubic-inch, twin-turbo Pro Mod car. We’ll be bringing you updates from Larson Race Cars as the car comes together, along with early testing numbers. Stay tuned.

AEROMOTIVE SELLS TWIN TURBO MUSTANG, BUILDING ALL NEW 2010 MUSTANG PRO MOD

Lenexa, KS – December 2009 – Aeromotive President, Steve Matusek sold his 2007 Ford Mustang Cobra to fellow racer, John Mihovetz, owner of Accufab, Inc. Mihovetz suffered a bad wreck at Fontana late this season. Shortly there after, Matusek and Aeromotive offered up for sale their carbon fiber, tube chassis ‘07 built by Larry Larson of Larson Race Cars. “Timing is everything,” said Matusek. “John and I talked quite a bit at SEMA, since we both race similar platforms. Once I heard he had a bad wreck, we got on the phone and it was an easy deal. We are happy for John and glad he is OK. I’m also excited to see what he can do with the car.”

Aeromotive’s new plans promise to be just as interesting as their last effort. The ’07 car featured a twin turbo 5.4L Ford Modular Motor. This time, the boys at Aeromotive are raising the bar. Plans include twin turbos again, but this time with Ford’s new 500 cu. in. Pro Stock motor as the cornerstone. “We made a statement with our last car.” Matusek added. “People said we couldn’t do it with that motor and we built a competitive car. This time though, we want to build a dominating car.”

Matusek plans to run in NHRA’s newly added Pro Mod class, as well as ADRL amongst a few others. Matusek and the boys at Aeromotive mentioned they have a lot of work ahead of them, but are counting on the help and expertise of fellow manufacturers. Matusek commented, “We have a lot to do to make this work, but we are in good company. And, with Ford behind us and our partnerships with other manufacturers, we’re confident we can come out turn some heads.”
