(Photos and captions by Craig Fitzgerald) – (Editor’s note – So Fitzgerald went down to the New York Auto Show super early this morning to spend the day looking a the new offerings from car companies all over the world. He asked us if he should send some photos from the show floor and we quickly gave him the assignment to send us the worst, lamest, or most annoying stuff that he saw during his initial hours on the show floor. What follows are his photos and captions)
Audi’s Grilles
They’re starting to look like they’re made out of railings. Chrome is good. Too much makes it look like you’re out of other ideas.
The Lincoln Booth
The most appealing Lincoln here is the 1963 Continental NY Governor’s limousine in the lobby. The Lincoln booth looks like a classy funeral home.
We’re sorry for your loss.
Jeep Renegade:
I get it. You have to market a car to people who like Jeep badges more than actual Jeeps.
Please call it something other than “Renegade.” I think “Tuxedo Park” is still available.
Mercedes
Please. If you’re going to put the Gulf livery on something, I can think of a hundred other Mercedes to do it on.
Like a Sprinter, maybe.
Would someone please stick a fork in Jeep?
This has to be the WORST transition ever.
