NHRA Says Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion Still on For Beech Bend Raceway

The NHRA has announced that the 2010 Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion is still on for Father’s Day weekend and will be held at the currently submerged Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We’re digging this announcement for the simple fact that it is a big vote of confidence behind Dallas Gardner and the whole group that runs the strip at Beech Bend. It’s going to be a totally epic thrash, but it’s pretty safe to say that the whole nostalgia drag racing world is pulling for them.

The track is the perfect venue for the event and there are a million reasons why. It hooks like the track is paved with velcro, it has stayed visibly the same for the last, oh, 50 years while gaining many of the modern features of larger tracks like great restrooms and concessions. Simply put there are few better places in the known universe to watch a drag race.

We’ll keep you posted on the progress that the crew at Beech Bend Raceway is making, but having seen a very similar situation occur at Lebanon Valley Dragway last year, we’ve got full confidence that the show will go on as planned. It ain’t gonna be easy, but we’re keeping our hopes high!
