(Photos by Charles Wickam) – While we were broadcasting the March Meet from Bakersfield last weekend, Texas photo contributor Charles Wickam was at another killer nostalgia event in Sealy, Texas. The event is called, “Meet the Legends” and for all intents and purposes was like a mini-March Meet. There was a killer car show, lots of great drag racing that featured vintage iron and race cars from 1973 on down, lots of well known local racing legends, and fans galore.
Charles did a great job capturing the event and he sent a huge pile of photos. We’re going to dose them out over the next couple of days, 100 at a time. This first load has plenty of drag strip action but focuses on the car show aspect of the event. You’ll see nice restored old race cars, some beautiful street rods, and a whole bunch of rat-tastic hot rods. You’ll even see an old, street legal sedan with a damned jet engine mounted in the trunk!
