Not Surprisingly The Weirdest Automotive CraigsList Ad Ever Is For a VW Van (Bus Transporter)

There are ads on Craigslist for everything. Looking at just the gearhead realm there are tens of thousands of cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, and parts listed in virtually every major metropolitan area in the USA and abroad. There are also lots of ads for people looking to trade stuff, be it parts, or cars, or projects. There’s one guy in Texas who is taking the whole “trade stuff for a car” thing to a whole new weird level.

BangShift photographer Charles Wickam somehow found this ad on the Houston, Texas CL and shared it on our forum section, so we decided to stick it up on the front page here. Since we’re thinking the ad may get flagged or something, the whole text of it will be below. In short, the person who posted is looking to trade gravesites for a VW “Bus Transporter”. The man is particular in his tastes as he doesn’t want a Vanagon or a Eurovan. The man wants an honest to goodness old school VW bus and he’s willing to trade up to four gravesites (all in a group!) to get it. He’s also willing to entertain offers so if you want to just trade him one plot straight up and then tell the rest of your family to find their own god-damned plots, go for it. Perhaps you’re a larger person and need the space and comfort of two plots. Trade him for two side by sides and have your own dirt condo! If you have a truly awesome VW van and have been spending a lot of time pondering your own mortality lately, be a tough dealer and get all four plots out of the guy. Apparently he is planning to be buried in the van or something.

This is a new one on us…trading grave sites for VW bus. We’d totally do it for a Hemi Challenger, though.

HERE’S THE TEXT OF THE AD IN CASE IT GETS YANKED DOWN –

[box_dark]I am looking for a bus. Really any year prior to the vanagons and Eurovan. I am interested in a project or a fully restored. I am willing to trade up to 4 (four) cemetary plots at Forest Park in Webster. These are premium plots that can be transferred into your name. They are all 4 side by side. The number of plots I am willing to offer depends on how much your bus is worth. These plots go for around $3000 each if you buy them from Forest Park. If you bought them from an owner, the price would be much lower. In short, don’t be afraid to make an offer. I will entertain all offers.

email only for now. [/box_dark]

    I sure hope the plots are unoccupied . . ., .

Perhaps some real “dead heads” will go for this trade.

A Hemi Challenger wouldn’t trade for less than a mausoleum.

On the other hand, I have it on good authority that a one could get a nice pet cemetary plot for an ex-cop “box” Caprice with a basement-fresh three-speed automatic (not mentioning any particular white Chevys . . . . )
