Odd Rods: Arizona Man Builds Running, Driving, Scale Models of Classic Cars

Ernie Adams is a big guy with a penchant for building small cars, and we mean really small cars.  A heavy duty diesel mechanic by day and fabricator/builder by night, Adams has managed to build several 11/16th models of classic American cars.

The most impressive thing to us is that they run, drive, and actually get used! Thus far he has created a 1928 Chevy two-door, 1949 Mercury, 1928 Chevy, a ’29 Ford rat rod, and a 1942 Ford ‘vert.

Adams uses stuff like old signs and fridge parts to make the bodies. The engines seem to be mostly small Toyota four bangers. Even with low hp, those engines must hustle one around nicely.

Of all the facets of the hobby we thought we knew, the whole “dwarf” car deal is a new on on us.
