Opinion: JC France Drug Arrest Shouldn’t Be Mocked

The recent arrest of JC France, grandson of NASCAR founder Bill France Sr., has made for big conversation all across the Internet. As could be expected, most of the comments have not been all that sympathetic. The fact that France was pulled over in a green Lamborghini and then gave the police all kinds of attitude didn’t help. RacinToday.com’s Larry Woody seems to be leading the defense, and he wrote an uber sympathetic piece about the France’s plight

In the piece, Woody scolds people on the Internet who have been taking pot shots at JC France as well as those who have been trying to tie in the Jeremy Mayfield saga (in case you missed it—and on BangShift.com, how could you?—Mayfield is a NASCAR driver being sued by the sanctioning body for alleged methamphetamine use). We think that if you are going to do illegal stuff, put others at risk, and fail to show any remorse for your actions, as was reported by the police, you deserve everything you get.

Here’s the best part. Once you finish the column, head down into the comments section for a very juicy report of Brian France having once been in the Betty Ford clinic for, wait for it, drug rehab! He’s apparently not welcome in the state of Arizona either. The person posting the comment uses quotes from the book Dirt Under the Asphalt and it’s pretty explosive stuff.
