While recovering from injuries suffered during a police beating while in Montreal, we caught wind of another significant automotive related surprise that was to be released on the general public in a French inspired area. We snuck thought the border in the back of a garbage truck and stowed away in the landing gear compartment of a flight bound for Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
We made it in a nick of time to see this special super light, Chevrolet powered, Ford hybrid. It is called the 2010 Reynolds-mobile and it combines the classic styling of the American hot rod, the technology of an old farm tractor, and the pure love that designer Chad Reynolds has for T-Buckets.
“When we pulled the cover off this car, the media couldn’t believe it. All the lilly-handed dweebs were asking for their glass of champagne and where the finger sandwiches were. There was this one guy who smelled like he rode in on a garbage truck that really got where I was going with the design.”
We didn’t get exact mileage estimates, but Reynolds claims that, “This bitch will make a Chevy Volt look like a fuel pig!”
Not being engineers we can’t directly refute the claim, but with a warmed up 350ci V8, three speed automatic transmission, and wheelie bars, we’re leery of his information and zeal.
When pressed about the wheelie bars, Reynolds said, “Are you seriously questioning my design? You smell like a garbage truck. How the hell did you get in here anyway?”
Reynolds was later seen threatening prominent members of the media to write positive stories on the car. Reynolds expects 15,000 fuel-sipping Reynolds-mobiles to sell in the first year of production.
